These terms apply to purchases from the theodore.net store. By placing an order, you agree to them.
About the shop
The store is operated in California and sells finished electronic objects, electronics kits, and parts kits. Checkout is guest-only; the store does not create accounts.
Availability and dispatch
Each product page states whether an item is in stock or made to order and gives an expected dispatch time. You may cancel for a full refund before the order ships. Email [email protected] with your order number, or check the order lookup page.
Orders, pricing, and payment
We may refuse or cancel an order at our discretion. If we cancel an order you have paid for, we will issue a full refund. Prices may change without notice. We may correct pricing or product errors and cancel affected orders with a full refund. Stripe processes card payments; we do not see or store your card number. See the Privacy Policy.
Shipping
Orders ship from California to the destinations and by the services shown at checkout. Tracking is provided when the order ships. Risk of loss passes to you when the carrier takes possession of the package.
If we cannot ship within the time stated when you order, or within 30 days where no time is stated, we will contact you and give you the choice to accept a revised date or cancel for a full refund.
Warranty
We provide a 90-day limited warranty against manufacturing defects, measured from the date of delivery. Our remedy is repair, replacement, or refund at our discretion. See the Return Policy for how to make a claim.
Except as expressly stated in this limited warranty, products are provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Where a written warranty is provided, any implied warranties are limited in duration to that written warranty, as provided under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.
The warranty does not cover incorrect kit assembly, unauthorized modification or repair, misuse, static discharge, accident, ordinary wear, or cosmetic damage that does not affect operation.
Kit safety and assumption of risk
Building and operating electronics involves heat, small parts, and live electrical connections. Finished rechargeable products contain a lithium-ion cell. Do not open, crush, puncture, short, or expose them to excessive heat, and do not charge them with equipment outside the published specifications. Stop using any device that is swollen, leaking, unusually hot, damaged, or producing an unusual odor. Contact us for handling instructions. These products are not intended for children under 13 without adult supervision.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your purchase or use of our products. Our total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid for the product. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for personal injury caused by our negligence.
Open-source software and hardware
Some finished products include software written by us, while some kits require software you install. Product pages state what is included. Project notices identify the relevant licenses and attributions.
Third-party software, data sources, and network services remain subject to their own terms and availability. We do not claim affiliation with or endorsement by a third party unless the product page says so.

Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California.
Changes
We may update these terms. The version posted when you order applies to that order. Purchases made after an update are subject to the revised terms.
